This seems a very good plot line for a comedy drama. Any news on when it is due to be shown??

Yeah, the BBC started talking about it as 'drama' rather than 'comedy drama' a while back. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out, but it does sound like they've decided to play down the comedy element.
Maybe in the same vein as Playing for Real and that sort of thing.
If it's anything like the Truckers on BBC in 1987, I'm up for it. Be nice to have the heads up when it's coming on.
I have seen a trailer for this on the BBC and it says it is a drama which is a shame as I think it could have worked well as a comedy-drama setting.
Yeah, it starts in a couple of weeks now and they seem to have quite firmly plumped for drama. I need to preview it this week to make sure, but it would seem the series has ended up 'comedy' in the same extent that any soap opera has elements of humour to lighten to mood.
