Man U must have done the Fellaini deal surely.
Especially with Everton getting two midfielders in.

Oh well. Looks like they have. Panic buy!
11.16pm - Lukaku move on loan to Everton confirmed by the player.
George - My only real hatred is for clubs that are too dominant. Once it was Liverpool. It is currently Man Utd. Unless information to the contrary emerges, the Ozil deal is not just good in footballing terms. It is a political coup. The pressure was on Wenger. Now it is United who are in disarray. Everyone else benefits.
Like many, I don't like the crazy money in the game. Never therefore really liked teams bought in just a few weeks either - ie Blackburn all those years ago - but the distinctions are less great now. Even with the Chelsea and Man City turnaround, those weren't significantly different from finance in the other top teams.
I think Everton have done good business.
Couple of Spurs 2nd eleven will do for QPR. I don't know what this young Carroll is like but he seems highly rated.
It looks like Mourinho doesn't like his Spanish players - and neither does Spain's coach.
"Spain have not selected Juan Mata, Fernando Torres or Cesar Azpilicueta for their two matches."
"Confirmation from Manchester United that three men who reportedly attempted to negotiate a deal to sign Athletic Bilboa midfielder Ander Herrera were not acting on behalf of the Premier League champions and were, for want of another word, imposters.
"Reports in Spain claim three men dressed in black suits and claiming to be United "representatives" spent an hour at the La Liga offices attempting to negotiate a deal. The move collapsed at the 11th hour."
Well Arsenal have certainly surprised me in forking out so much dosh for one single player!!! What made me really larf was the news they probably didn't want airing as much as it has, that it was 3 times bigger than their previous record, making The Arsenal look like the true poefaced little tightfists they are, happier to be labelled prudent businessmen without winning a single pot for 8 seasons, than being called a great football team. Their conservative traditionalist senior board members who spend more time and money in well serviced meetings than BBC managers, will be puking blood at that aberration. Which is a good thought, pompous arses.
On the chosen one being Ozil, hmm, well, not exactly a Rooney is he, who was priced the same! I know who I'd rather have. Maybe Wenger felt a deep primal connection to him, on account of his similar gawky physique and looks or maybe he just gets paid in birdseed. He's been silky in Europe but plenty of lightweight silkies have come a cropper in the tough old premiership, so this'll be a further surprise to me if it's a success.
Not that I really give a hoot but all of the names being bandied about tonight appear to be foreign chappies.
So what does that do to the English team ?

WTF?!
Cautiously chuffed with our signing.

Frankly I would have both Assou-Ekottu and Carroll in Spurs first XI; a solid if occasionally casual fullback, and a midfield metronome who is always looking for the forward pass. You have done well. Word is you have signed Krancjar as well - a fat f**k, but skilful.
Not so sure about Spurs, too many players in at once with no Premiership experience. Am desperately hoping that Erikson is going to be key unlocking packed defences, because AVB's defensive highline, pressing game and narrowing use of inverted wingers, means that teams sit deep and defend in two rows of four, letting us monopolise possession, while killing us on the break. Last season we pretty much relied on Bale scoring worldies from outside the box.
I am delighted that Arsenal have signed Pepe from The Simpsons.

This is what's known as 'quite obviously a Twitter hoax'.

Jealous cos they play better football than Chelsea?
An English League! I don't think so!
Racist

He might need a bit of time to readjust, but I reckon he'll make his mark as one of the PL All Time Greats, ranking somewhere between Bergkamp and Zola. He'll definitely be a huge asset in the Champions League which might be the main reason he was bought.
To be honest, I rate Ozil higher than Bale. Bale's much more a one-player team kind of guy, so probably the man who can still get a result if the other 10 numpties are not performing, but Ozil's (certainly the Ozil of the last Euros) most probably the most creative player I've seen in recent years.
It's a shame that Arsenal already seem to have a number of 'creative' midfielders. Only Flamini can tackle. And I include the defenders in that summary!
That said, Podolski used to be amazing in that German team at the last World Cup and now it's rare I notice him on the pitch until the 70th minute or so. Maybe it was all Klose and I gave him too much credit.
