Thänk you, Roscöff!

I've just been reading up on Bale. £86m seems like a huge amount of money for someone who has had injuries almost every season.

The right ankle in particular has been a problem at least twice. I'm sure that the Spurs have secured a great deal. Lots of money to spend.

If it is Ozil for Arsenal, that's brilliant news. But looking at the other names Wenger has been pursuing, I ask myself how many midfielders a team needs. Only two strikers have been mentioned.

The striker that is looking the most likely - Abel Hernandez - is not who I would choose. He's done well for his country but not at all for his club and is very questionable on temperament.

Cazorla, who I rate highly and played a blinder yesterday, plays a similar role to Ozil, doesn't he?

As for strikers, Sky Sports News are saying that you're trying to get Ba on loan from Chelsea.

Mourhino seems to be dismantling Chelsea's formidable strike force, and jettisoning some very good players, with Moses on his way out, and possibly loaning out Lukaku to Everton. He's sidelined Mata, and bought Eto'o. Presumably he could have made a move for Ozil if he'd wanted to.

Seems more like ego than logic, but I still think Chelsea will win the title with ease, and that he's the best manager in the league.

Wow! Mad! Good to see Swansea back on track. The Premiership would be a poorer place without them.

It's supposed to be an English league. Welsh clubs shouldn't be allowed!!!!

As a Chelsea supporter I'd be more than happy for the league to finish like this.

They are similar. Both are most effective in the central areas but can also play wide. Ozil will be given preference keeping Cazorla to the left which is precisely why Wenger has been criticised up until now. It isn't his best position. Having said as much, the Tottenham game is far from the only one in which Cazorla has been impressive. His consistency is undoubted even if that didn't translate in August into goals or ff points. And given the dexterity of the two, there should be fluidity as long as it doesn't get too crowded.

I wanted Demba Ba to come to Arsenal but that's not happening. If there is a Lukaku move, it looks like a godsend to Everton. How a player of his calibre can be shipped around is unfathomable although a few things went wrong for him at Chelsea plus he doesn't like sitting on the bench. As for Mourinho, I like him and his record is unbelievably good but I'm starting to think seriously about Liverpool and even the Gunners as possible champions. It's wide open. Man Utd had become too much like Liverpool in the 1970s. Not now.

Two things about Wenger. He was a little unfair to our friendly North London rivals in saying that their only decent player was their goalkeeper. Soldado, for example, looks good to me. And it was very disappointing how Arsenal fans behaved towards him on the first day of the season. Clearly he wasn't spending any money because he was waiting for the Bale transfer to happen. Ozil was unhappy where he was and ready to team up with Podolski and Mertesacker. Whatever the frustrations, he didn't deserve that sort of anger.

I think Manchester United have lost the fear factor. And nobody wants to go there!

Yes.

10.29pm - Ozil at Arsenal confirmed.

Bloody hell! Looks like it's just gonna be Fellaini! Gah!

:D

Yes but Giroud is outperforming, Podolski's injured, the defence is only good enough and half the squad is ill.

You are too kind. :)

All the Chelsea supporters I know (had it been Chelsea instead) would be rubbing my face in it, not trying to console me. ;)

I don't think so!!!!

Well, not much happening for the mighty Reds of Nottingham on Transfer Deadline Day (or as we call it, Monday). :(

Although if Pep Guedioura has gone to Palace for £3m we have done some decent business.
