A self contained image, clip or other construct that over time and use has developed a meaning purely relating to it's self. For example Paedo bear an image of a cartoon bear hocked from a manga cartoon. Which now means;
"I think this poster is a paedophile or this discussion would be of interest to ppaedophiles."

Thanks sootyj.

You select such choice examples. :D

Do you mean like the avocet, the symbol of the RSPB, conveys an interest in birdwatching?

What is the difference between a meme and a logo?

A meme is sort of an organic logo.

So "computer says no lady" is a kind of image that denotes, technical problems. You can't really create a meme intentionally. Though I suppose there are exceptions like the way Disney show's it's ID through the 3 spheres that form Mickeys head.

nb Paedo Bear is just the best known meme.

As in 'not designed by a Committee'.

Logos belong on the cool thread. Perhaps knowing what a meme is does too.

Nothings designed by commitee anymore granddad!

It's all crowds sourced (which I suspect you think is the alternative to ketchup or brown sauce)

Right.

Clearly I'm still in the 1980s.

I got as far as being a post-modern rambler but never progressed to urban warrior. :)

I was a post modern rambler, but people kept telling me to shut up.

Holy shit, Simon Pegg actually did something funny.

Two funny videos. I particularly liked the second although the band itself is hard to place. They appeared on stage at Glastonbury with Primal Scream but are allegedly most often compared with Fleetwood Mac. Really?

Get a tissue ready !
