A mate's band when I was at Uni:

Yeah Yeah Noh - Bias Binding

John Peel thought they were wonderful (honestly).

They are good.

John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr watched Bob Dylan and The Band perform at the Isle of Wight Festival on this evening in 1969. The three were accompanied by their respective wives.

Before the Band were joined by Bob Dylan, they played a lengthy set from their first two albums which both captured the zeitgeist and evoked old time rural America.

Or their albums N°1-4.

I've got them all plus a couple of others. A compilation and a live Forever Changes.

Yes, I think I would go along with that assessment.

Lesley got a lot of airplay around 1970-1972 but opted for a quiet life on the Isle of Mull. She died in 2010.

Lesley Duncan - Love Song

I thought she was great. A unique voice and good songwriter.

Love song was nothing o do with Elton though was it?

And Sing children sing.

Listening to Dirty old town by the Pogues.

My only criticism is that she rolls her "r" in "your eyes".

would like her to roll her "r"s in my eyes.

Happy Birtday!!!

Hopefully not as in John Birt. That would be terrible.

(Some who say the BBC has gone downhill have short memories)

Not in the sense of love. But Lesley Duncan wrote the song and he recorded it. It's a track on "Tumbleweed Connection" - as posted by Gordon some pages above - and I think it is her singing on that version too.

Listening to Le Roux's AOR masterpiece 'So Fired Up', which features this nugget that was good enough for Uriah Heep to cover:

And try the same track, but with the horrific early MTV video to go with it, I'd not seen this before and I nearly wet meself!
