Nice.

Had a brilliant time at Rock En Seine festival in Paris last Friday. Saw Savages, Daughter, Alt-J, Franz Ferdinand, Johnny Marr.

Finished the night watching a Brit singer I hadn't heard of, Alex Hepburn, who has a growing reputation in France. Not the kind if thing I normally listen to/post here, but her set was very accomplished, and it was a really good way to unwind at the end of the day. This cover was one of her best numbers.

That festival sounds interesting. I'm pleased you enjoyed it.

Hadn't heard of Alex Hepburn but it is good to hear a new soul voice. I hesitate a little to mention Amy Winehouse. I liked her but appreciate that she wasn't to everyone's taste. The main point is that her greatest legacy could be a long-lasting influence on a new generation of "authentic" singers. Hope so.

That's the vocal histrionics in the decade of X-Factor sorted. Now all we need to do is deal with black Americans who unfortunately remain wedded to so-called R and B. Their musicality is generally absent.
