*Insert jokes about sticky wickets, bowling a maiden over... ect*
I'm a bit like jenny, I did not work late yesterday but I am having great trouble getting my recalcitrant arse off to work.

Work is stupid. I have informed my clerks I do not want to work for the rest of the week. It is the ONLY good thing about being self-employed.
I know I will get a phone call later..."Miss, we need a favour...got a trial in Basildon that needs covering..."
Quote: Jennie @ August 21 2013, 12:35 PM BSTself-employed.
But you are in a category. I doubt I am. For the past two years, I have had annual outgoings in five figures and my annual income has been, erm, zero. This will continue, especially as I stopped seeking work in 2011.
No benefits. No nothing. It's an interesting life experience. Call me an island for I sure don't belong to any flag. And mainly that suits the nation. Better stats as officially I and similar are not typically unemployed.

Being a barrister, does Starbucks ever call you up by mistake to make coffee?
...is wondering why he was so profligate with ideas in last night's writers meeting, given it's now landed him with three things to write before he goes on holiday next week. That'll learn me.

How do you survive? Sounds horrible
I know I should appreciate my job more, particularly in times like this.

Thanks. It wasn't a finger wagging exercise. There were many days when I didn't like work.
I'm on what is left of redundancy money, get a little family support and in the long term I own two thirds of a bungalow which might help if the values don't crash.
Whether that will be enough for what will be 20 years though........!
Going to go over to Newcastle tonight and do some new material at my favouritest new act night. Didn't write it in my diary for an unknown reason so left it until today to actually write some new material. I've just written a new song I'm cautiously optimistic about but I'm unusually anxious about going. Hm.

Good luck, NOW. Newcastle's nice.
And we must save the City Hall.
I didn't know it needs saving. I'll find a petition! I love the City Hall. It's an awesome venue for tour comedy (one I've only been in audience, obviously!).
It's always nice going over to gig in newcastle because I lived there for 7/8 years and most of my comedy chums live over there. Doing Red Raw at the stand is a good excuse to see people. Also the Stand is wonderful.

I heard a rumour that there was the possibility of closure.
Nothing definite.
Won't say which year I saw Lindisfarne there at their famous Christmas party. It will make me sound ancient but it was a great 24 hours from Sarf London to Newcastle and back sitting on the floor of the milk train.

Thanks, dellas. Becoming Northern probably.
