"Heroes" by David Bowie on the Arrow.

It really doesn't get any better than that.

I bought a proper Madness album yesterday. 'Absolutely' from 1980.

Like a lot of people, the only Madness album I owned previously was 'The Singles'. It was quite a delight to hear all these 'new' Madness songs. Particularly the track 'Disappear'.

I don't know all their albums but I remember loving the Prince and Night Boat to Cairo when they first came out.

I went to see them play in Camden withj a mate and we were tyhe only 2 in leather jackets. We felt quite intimidated. I think the support was Echo & The Bunnymen who were not made to feel welcome either.

Oh cool. They had quite a skinhead following, so I can imagine their gigs could get intimidating.

When was this? Unless it was no later than the mid-50s and you were on day leave from the Air Force, that is unforgivable.

About 1980 I think - just after we'd been to the Specials and Selector.

That was a bit more civilised.

Ah, like being in a real life Ashes to Ashes. I'm so jealous of you oldies sometimes :P

Most civilised gig I've ever been to was Katie Melua. There were seats and everything! :O

Well now I'm listening to/sort of watching Jools Holland. Be interesting to see Liza Minelli.
