Apparently inteligent over thinks suffer most with insomnia because hard to turn your brain off. Where as stupid people just drop like logs when their body is exhausted.
So habits to get out of; watching TV in bed, checking emails using mobile in bed etc, thinking about complex stuff. Keep your bedroom as unstimulating as possible and try and build in a pattern of behaviours that tells you now its time for sleep.
My flats so small it doesn't have a bedroom and the only place I can watch TV is in bed. I set the sleep timer on the telly most nights because that actually helps me sleep. I'm also fairly thick. I get jealous of people who can fall asleep within 15-20mins.
