Legal Privilege - Sitcom Script Page 12

Good point, Tursiops. I better make both just to be sure. Maybe some Passionfruit Cake, too. That'll cover all bases.

Have you sent a completed script to any production companies before?

Is that question for me? Don't worry - I wouldn't actually bake for a producer. I am very selective with my baking.

I'm guessing not?

I think you have to choose, Jennie, between someone who writes short sketches and someone who writes half hour sitcoms as submissions. There are some people who ask for shorter one act plays but they're are hard to find...
Then there are the longer dramas for TV, 50 minute radio plays and so on.

I don't understand. This is a half hour sitcom (the current draft is longer than this). It was originally written for Sitcom Mission, hence 15 minute length. I don't write sketches - not really my thing. What am I choosing between?

Edit: Ah, you've added the word 'being' and it makes sense. Yes, this is a 30 minute sitcom. :)

But if it was a 15 minute piece why submit it just as two scenes and a synopsis? Are you confusing it with a book (where you have to submit a chapter and a synopsis)?

I haven't submitted it like that - that was a suggestion of Jaicee's which was picked up on by Lazzard and Marc. The cake discussion was just a joke. I would always submit a script in full.

. Hmm, macho cakes? Rock cakes, Mississippi mud pie and Devil's cake?

I am only just coming round to the idea that cakes are gender specific. I have seen grown men happily tuck into one of my cup cakes, with glittery pink icing and a Disney princess motif.

Cake is cake. It is yummy.

They were gay Jennie. And wearing mankinis.

:O One of them was my boyfriend at the time!

You know, I've never quite got to the bottom of why that didn't work out :P

There you go!

I've just texted him and asked. Apparently he is straight and offended that I suggested otherwise.

But then, he also said that I might have some responsibility for the decline of our relationship, which is obviously untrue.

So I reckon he probably is gay.

Was that a euphemism? :) lol

The prosecution rests.

:D

Well, it's a pretty compelling argument, if I say so myself.

:O Gosh, I hope not. I hate to think where the poor Disney princess would find herself! :P

People have been mentioning sitcoms around law, without a single mention of the wonderful Is It Legal?. Horrified.
