Have just had a pub lunch. Very unusual for me these days. Looking forward to seeing those links.
A favourite singer is Annie Haslam:

I've also been a fan of Joji Hirota since seeing him at Womad in 1999. Great voice, great flautist, great taiko drummer. Will post something of Joji's sometime. I discovered yesterday that he had a previous life doing something very different musically as "George" Hirota. This is a real gamble as I haven't heard it myself yet!
George Hirota - Sahasurara 01-02
.......Thanks again for the links, Gordon.
"Sketch for Summer" is a work of art. I recall that it was played at the funeral of someone famous. Very possibly John Peel. Blumfeld are new to me. I liked that track. Some great minor chords and harmonies. At each point that I thought it might veer off into cheap cliche, it didn't, and kept its sophisticated polish.
Can were admirably eclectic. I knew the first song but might not have been able to say that it was Can if asked. The one I play most of theirs is "Vitamin C" and, of course, they charted here with "I Want More". Long tracks like the second are a fascinating challenge. As was the George Hirota. He sure has changed!

Love that song. Remember it from when I was at school but never got around to buying it.
