It was probably the Imagined Village which took me to Chris Wood. An internet pal originally sent me that link. It's a favourite. I've fallen way behind on this thread today. Will need to catch up soon. I did, though, spot Rotary Connection who were produced by the great Charles Stepney. While not in favour of over-reaching histrionics, I've always liked natural vocal range. Minnie Riperton, who was in RC, is my all-time number one female soul singer. Good to hear those - Beach Boys, Temps, Godley and Creme, etc - and to see the real Sally Carr again. Anathema could easily be more well-known. Chicago always sound better than expected. I wonder though if anyone has ever found them accessible. It's all those albums with roman numerals. Didn't they also move around in convoys of trucks and private jets? Still, what was - and is - good enough for Fleetwood Mac!
