Clowning a round

A man dressed as a happy clown is standing in a back garden flicking spoonfuls of syrup onto a bedroom window.

A giraffe then walks into the garden and starts licking the windows clean

A woman appears at the door of the house and pays the clown.

We then see then see the clown with a less happy face flicking spoonfuls of mashed bananas at a bedroom window

A monkey then arrives with a ladder which goes straight through the front window of the house and the sound of breaking glass startles the monkey and it climbs all over the house screaming.

The woman comes to the broken window she is pissed right off

WOMAN
I warned you about using that bloody monkey again, what happened to the Giraffe ?

CLOWN
It's got diabetes!

It's an inventive approach to window cleaning which is mildly amusing, but the punchline is rather a let down.

This reminds me of The Giraffe, The Pelly and Me. One of my favourite Roald Dahl books.

The visuals are bang on, what a crazy scene , a clown flicking syrup at a window, a giraffe and a monkey with a ladder screaming, but the punch doesn't give the scene justice.

Carlos I know what you mean and I can see it not working for loads of people but I do love deadpan and I really like the punch, just subjectivity I suppose.

But I agree with what you say and I reckon over 60% won't like it either.

This visual in itself is funny

A man dressed as a happy clown is standing in a back garden flicking spoonfuls of syrup onto a bedroom window.
