I didn't know them. A bit of Beatles and a bit of Moody Blues...yes, and some seagulls.

I don't know. But the song was very atypical for the BB at that time. Very complicated compared to their other stuff (surfin' USA, Get Around etc) and slightly psychedelic. A precursor to their late 60s career.

Gordon - thank you. I am looking forward to listening to these. "Fire and Rain" is one of my favourite songs.
I've picked this one. Think this is a very good song -

Mr R's choice is useful. Gordon - I really like all of your recent posts. Along with "Fire and Rain", the one I loved was the Crosby and Nash. That will now be played frequently. I'm on the move at various times today so am likely to be sporadic. To start, a couple of songs from the 80s that will probably be known to many.

A very nice rehabilitation of a song which has become a bit of a joke. I need to add some Ry to my iPod.
I liked the songs by the Byrds and America. Much prefer the softer rock of the late 60s/early 70s although Michael McDonald has a very good voice and that track of his from the 80s is a good'un. Blimey, it's warm!
