The Man In The White Suit trivia

The strange noise of the laboratory equipment was produced with a tuba and a bassoon.

The sound effect was reused in the 2009 film Fantastic Mr Fox as the sound of Bean's cider press.

The film is based on a play by Roger MacDougall called The Flower Within The Bud.
