The Galloping Major trivia

The Galloping Major himself was played by a horse named Bobbie.

The film is named after, and uses the 1906 comic music hall song, The Galloping Major.

King George VI died unexpectedly between the film's production and release, leading to a sequence referring to him and seeing Maggie visit Buckingham Palace, being cut. It was kept by the studio and reinstated in 1955 for a re-release of The Galloping Major.
