The Breaking Of Bumbo trivia

The Breaking Of Bumbo initially received only a limited cinematic release comprising of preview screenings in London during September 1970. A full cinematic release was swiftly cancelled, reportedly due to the quality of the film. It was never widely distributed in Britain and only became generally available when shown on BBC2 on Sunday 17th August 1975 at 9:55pm.

Based on a best-selling 1959 book by historian Andrew Sinclair, Kevin Brownlow and Andrew Mollo were initially signed up as directors. After arguments with the producer and distributor Bryan Forbes of EMI, they were replaced with Sinclair in his own directorial debut.
