Storm In A Teacup
Rex Harrison and Vivien Leigh star in this classic comedy drama directed by Ian Dalrymple and Victor Saville.
When Englishman Frank Burdon (Harrison) travels to Scotland to take a job as a newspaper reporter, his world changes beyond imagination after a chance meeting with Victoria (Leigh), the daughter of Provost Willie Gow (Cecil Parker).
When Frank comes across a peasant woman (Sara Allgood) who reveals she cannot pay the fine placed on her for not having a license for her dog, Victoria's tyrannical father orders the destruction of the animal.
Appalled by the decision, Frank decides the best way to get Gow to change his mind is to gather public interest. As Victoria sides with Frank, alienating her father, news of the scandal travels throughout Scotland causing Gow to retaliate with a lawsuit for slander against Frank.
