Please don't send in the clown stitches
Stitches is a singularly inept and mean-spirited low-budget horror film that searches for laughs in gore and grotesqueness but never ever finds them.

Niki Boyle, The List, 25th October 2012Stitches - review
A vengeful clown comes back from the dead - but it's more revolting than funny or scary.
Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian, 25th October 2012The horror-comedy genre is notoriously hard to pull off, but this Anglo-Irish effort makes a decent, trashy fist of it. Ross Noble plays a dead clown, impaled on a kitchen knife at a young lad's birthday, who returns to exact punishment on the kids who tripped him up. Variations are spun on his old party tricks: someone's large intestine is turned into a balloon animal, and it's hard not to guffaw at Noble's Rolf Harris quip ("Can you tell what it is yet?"). He's no Freddy Krueger - the story lacks genuine fright - but the practical effects are amusingly grisly.
Tim Robey, The Telegraph, 25th October 2012Stitches - RTÉ TEN review
A very silly movie, but if you're in the mood for slapstick and gore you'll get plenty. However, if clowns cause you the same distress that polystyrene and hard boiled eggs provoke in others, stay at home.
Harry Guerin, RTE, 25th October 2012Film review: 'Stitches'
Certainly one for the home entertainment market, McMahon's Stitches doesn't quite seem certain as to what it wants to be, yet may nevertheless appeal to die-hard fans of Noble's dead-pan shtick. Just don't expect this to kick-start your Halloween film festivities.

"I'm playing an undead killer clown. I wanted to make it believable"
