Filming has started in Manchester on a new rom-com from the makers of Bridget Jones, Johnny English and Shaun Of The Dead.
CC: Emily tells the story of a lovesick young musician who teams up with a psychology student to find his dream girl.
Spike Fearn (Newark, Newark, Sneakerhead, Alien: Romulus) leads the cast, alongside Australian actress Angourie Rice (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Mean Girls).
"Together, they spark a hilarious campus-wide frenzy that tests their own hearts and ambitions along the way," according to a brief plot outline reported by Hollywood publication Deadline.
Working Title, a Universal Pictures company whose credits also include Four Weddings And A Funeral, is producing the film, with The Outlaws and Pure director Alicia MacDonald (pictured), who judged BCG Pro's Talent Awards: Production last year.
The film has been written by Rachel Hirons, a comedian and writer whose previous credits include A Guide To Second Date Sex and Powder Room. It is expected to be released in 2025.
