Filming is underway in Hertfordshire on new dark comedy film Go Away!.

Written and directed by Ed Kear and Cringo Williamson, partly based on their own past experiences of dealing with debt and bailiffs, the comedy focuses on life-long layabout and lodger Kyle Burden as his life is flipped upside down when an accident with a bailiff on the same day that his landlord has scheduled viewings with potential buyers threatens to derail his pot growing business.

This Is England star Michael Socha, who has previously appeared in British comedy films such as Double Date and Walk Like A Panther, has taken on the lead role of Kyle.

Ella Bruccoleri, who plays Miss Barragan in Bridgerton, has been cast as Kyle's quirky friend Gemma, with Paddington and W1A star Hugh Bonneville signed up to play the mysterious 'Bernard' - the only witness to the incident with the bailiff.

Niky Wardley is the estate agent, Jo Martin plays the police chief, and Steve Speirs plays a character called Paul. The bailiff is portrayed by Paul McNeilly.

The cast list also features Jeff Mirza, Chris Gascoyne, Hatty Preston, Gerard Horan, and more.

The directors, who work together under the name Rude Guests, say: "We had a fantastic time developing this project and are incredibly excited to see it come to life with such a fantastic cast and crew. We look forward to delivering a film that's funny and poignant in equal measure which we hope will live long in the memory of its audience".

The film is produced by Gina Lyons for Gobby Girl Productions, alongside Kristyna Sellnerova. Production company Low Road Films are a key partner in the project, with executive producers including Melora Donoghue and Randy Wooten. Donoghue says: "Low Road Films is thrilled to be partnered with the talented filmmakers of Go Away! as they bring this original and hilarious project to life."
