Tom Parry (pictured) has written his first film, Your Christmas Or Mine?, a festive rom-com for Amazon starring Daniel Mays and Angela Griffin, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.

Joe Lycett has also shot his first movie role in Sky's upcoming seasonal rom-com A Christmas Number One, which also features fellow comics Rich Hall, Jack Carroll and Jeff Mirza.

Currently shooting at Pinewood Studios near London but set in the north of England, Your Christmas Or Mine? is Parry's screenwriting debut, a 90-minute family movie directed by Jim O'Hanlon (Catastrophe, Trying), which reunites Code 404 star Mays and Griffin, who previously appeared together in last year's Ibiza-set Netflix drama White Lines.

Details of the plot and further cast details have yet to be revealed. Your Christmas Or Mine? is also the first film from Shiny Button Productions, the company set up by King Gary star Tom Davis and his regular collaborator, director James De Frond, with Andy Brereton.

Alongside performing in the twice Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominated sketch group Pappy's, Parry is establishing himself as a writer and director. He co-wrote the recent BBC Two pilot Don Rodolfo with star Ciaran Dowd, as well as his sketch trio's 2015 Christmas-themed short for Sky Arts in which they starred alongside Dara O Briain.

Meanwhile, A Christmas Number One will be released in cinemas and on Sky Cinema in December.

Starring Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto and Game Of Thrones' Iwan Rheon as a record executive and songwriter trying to get a song penned by a very ill 13-year-old girl to the top of the charts, the film features Lycett in his first screen role as a DJ; a role he has fulfilled in real life by guest presenting Sara Cox's Radio 2 show.

Directed by Chris Cottam, whose credits include several of Rich Hall's BBC Four documentaries, the American stand-up plays a poet in the film, which also features Carroll and Mirza in supporting roles.

That Mitchell And Webb Look's Keiron Self and Giles New have written the script with Robert Chandler, producer of several pop music documentaries on the likes of Kylie Minogue, Boy George and Pete Waterman.
