Jamie Demetriou joins Charli xcx's music mockumentary The Moment

Jamie Demetriou has reportedly joined the cast of Charli xcx's music mockumentary The Moment.
Filming is underway on the feature in London, which is described as following "the life of a pop star in the lead-up to her first headline arena tour. The Moment gives an inside look at the inner workings of the music industry and explores how subculture is mutated by commercial success."
Starring and produced by the Brat singer, the ensemble cast also features US comedian Kate Berlant and actor-singer Isaac Cole Powell, who appeared in Armando Iannucci's The Franchise, alongside Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Trew Mullen and Rish Shah, movie website Film Updates reports.
The Moment is the feature debut of Glaswegian photographer Aidan Zamiri, who directed the music video for Charli xcx's song Guess and Billie Eilish's Birds of a Feather. Zamiri has co-written the screenplay with magazine writer Bertie Brandes, while A.G. Cook, a producer who worked on the Brat album, is composing the score.
Details of Demetriou, Berlant and Powell's characters currently remain under wraps. But Deadline has previously reported that Arquette is playing a record label boss, Skarsgård is a fashionable European creative and Mullen is xcx's personal assistant.
Stath Lets Flats and Fleabag star Demetriou has become a cinematic fixture recently, appearing in Paddington 2 and Barbie, as well as the action comedy Back In Action earlier this year, alongside Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz and Andrew Scott. He is part of the cast for Noah Baumbach's upcoming coming-of-age comedy drama Jay Kelly, which stars George Clooney and Adam Sandler and was written by Baumbach with Doll & Em star Emily Mortimer.
The Moment is the first release from Charli xcx's production company Studio365, with David Hinojosa producing for his company 2AM. Brandon Creed, Mikey Schwartz-Wright and Zach Nutman are executive producing, with US distribution giant A24 handling the film's global release.
