Richard E. Grant and Tom Davis join Sacha Baron Cohen's Ladies First
Richard E. Grant, Emily Mortimer and Tom Davis have joined the cast of Ladies First, Sacha Baron Cohen's upcoming gender swap rom-com for Netflix.
As British Comedy Guide exclusively revealed last month, the feature is a remake of Netflix's 2018 French original, Je Ne Suis Pas Un Homme Facile, aka I Am Not An Easy Man.
Starring Baron Cohen as an unrepentant sexist who finds himself in a parallel universe where women are in power, the film co-stars Rosamund Pike as a fellow chauvinist with whom his character hooks up.
Production is now underway at Shepperton Studios, where the streaming platform has a large production base, with shooting scheduled to continue until January.
Charles Dance, Fiona Shaw and Bad Education's Weruche Opia have also joined the film's starry ensemble, with the film being directed by Wicked Little Letters helmer Thea Sharrock, from a screenplay by Katie Silberman (Booksmart), Natalie Krinsky (Gossip Girl) and Cinco Paul (Despicable Me).
