Carry On... Up The Khyber trivia

The Carry On production team left England for the first and only time for scenes at the Khyber Pass. They were filmed in Beddgelert, Snowdonia, in North Wales.

The film was originally to be titled simply Up The Khyber, following film distributor Rank's wariness to be associated with the 'Carry On' brand established by previous distributor Anglo Amalgamated. The prefix was reinstated shortly before filming began.

Carry On... Up The Khyber's original release saw it paired in a double-bill with monster movie King Kong Escapes.

Carry On... Up The Khyber was shot on a budget of just £235,000 - adjusted for inflation, just over £3.6 million in 2013.
