Friends Sid and Bernie are desperate to get away with their girlfriends and move their relationships on to the next stage - the girls are far less keen, rightly suspecting that the boys have more than a quiet get-away in mind. Eventually agreeing to go away, the boys secretly plot their destination: 'Paradise', a members-only camp site where the dress code is no dress at all!
Upon arrival, however, it is the boys who are disappointed and Joan and Anthea with smiles on their faces. Rather than a sea of bare bodies, it's a perfectly pleasant green field and modern shower block. Sid and Bernie are rather put out, but the girls insist on staying.
Soon, other groups begin arriving. Put-upon, camping-loathing husband Peter and his dominant, oblivious wife Harriet; the hapless - and hopeless - lone camper and hitch-hiker Mr Muggins; and a coach load of girls from boarding school Chayste Place, plus headmaster Dr. Soaper and their Matron.
The young girls immediately catch Sid's eye, and despite a series of disasters with the weather and their camping equipment, he's determined to stay and try to find his entertainments! Meanwhile, Peter is desperate to at least be rid of Muggins, if not his wife as well; and site owner Mr. Fiddler knows a way to make an extra pound or two when he sees it!
