Terry Jones has completed filming on his first movie as a director in 18 years.

Shot on location in London and at Pinewood Studios, the final stages of filming were carried out yesterday at the renowned studios' Underwater Stage.

The film stars Simon Pegg and Kate Beckinsale, alongside others including Joanna Lumley, Judy Loe, Meera Syal, Robert Bathurst and American comedian Rob Riggle.

The story follows disillusioned school teacher Neil Clarke (Pegg), who suddenly finds he has the ability to do anything he wants, a remarkable ability - and challenge - bestowed upon him by a group of power-crazed aliens watching from space.

The aliens have been voiced by Jones and his fellow Monty Python members, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, and Michael Palin.

American comedian, actor and Hollywood A-lister Robin Williams also features, as the voice of Neil's dog, Dennis.

Filming has been underway for the past month and the movie is being produced by Bill And Ben Productions, the company co-founded by Jones's son, Ben Jones.

Completing the shoot, Terry Jones, who also co-wrote the movie with Gavin Scott, said: "Kate, Simon and Rob breathed such life into the characters. I couldn’t have imagined anyone else playing those parts."

The film will now go into post-production and is planned for release during 2015, through distributors Lionsgate.
