TV Comedy Preview: 2nd to 8th June 2014
There's various new things of note on TV this week, the 2nd to 8th June 2014. Here's our pick...
Series 2 of the daft sitcom created by sketch trio Pappy's. This first episode is a football-themed adventure in which the three men must go to extraordinary lengths to try to see an England football match. There are some preview clips in our guide. Monday, 10pm, BBC Three. Guide
Rachel Riley and Joe Wilkinson have worked together many times now on 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, to the extent they're friends in real life too. That shows through here as, for this Dave show, they're dropped in Greece and given 24 hours to spend 10,000 euros. Tuesday, 10pm, Dave. Guide
Jack Whitehall and his father Michael return for a World Cup special of their comedy chat show. They're joined by Harry Redknapp, James Corden, Henning Wehn and Rachel Riley as the hype around Brazil 2014 builds. Tuesday, 10pm, BBC Three. Guide
This new format, in which three comedians are given control of peoples' social media accounts in order to run their lives, starts on London Live this week. Dave Gibson, Bec Hill and Jacob Edwards are the trio involved. It's watch-through-your-fingers stuff as, for example, a posh boy must pass himself off as a rapper. Wednesday, 10pm, London Live. Guide
Year 5 of the biggest stand-up show in the country. This one has a bit of extra poignancy as it's dedicated to the late Addison Cresswell, the super-agent who came up with the idea of this charity fundraiser. Pretty much all the big names, including Lee Evans and Michael McIntyre, are present. Thursday, 9pm, Channel 4. Guide
Matt Edmondson hosts this new show which looks out for the funny moments in the week's big TV shows, and shares the best social media comments about them too. It's kind of a blend between TV Burp, Screenwipe and Gogglebox. Click through to the guide for a cake-smashing trailer. Thursday, 10pm, ITV2. Guide
8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown
This was only ever supposed to have been a one-off special, but the blending of the two shows works so well that Jimmy Carr, Sean Lock and Jon Richardson are back for another six episodes of the format. Jonathan Ross and Roisin Conaty are the guests in this first one. Friday, 9pm, Channel 4. Guide
There's lots more on TV too, for example Episodes, Trying Again and Mr Sloane continue. For a complete summary, including radio, see our full schedule
