TV Comedy Preview: 12th to 18th May 2014
We pick some TV shows to look out for this week, the 12th to 18th May 2014...
The second and final part of this satirical BBC Scotland show (find it on iPlayer if you're south of the border). Sanjeev Kohli takes a humorous look at the forthcoming referendum on independence and explores the questions that the public might want answers to but are too embarrassed to ask. Monday, 10:35pm, BBC One Scotland. Guide
A new series in which comedians travel abroad and try and spend £10,000 in just one day, whilst sticking to a strict set of rules (it's harder than it sounds). The first pairing is Richard Herring and David Baddiel - they're in Armenia. Tuesday, 10pm, Dave. Guide
The third and final of the new Comedy Playhouse pilots... and perhaps the most promising (it's been in development for a number of years). Monks is a studio audience sitcom pilot set in a monastery. See our guide for some preview clips. Tuesday, 10:40pm, BBC One. Guide
This week, Derek and the Broad Hill gang go on a trip to London Zoo. Being an animal lover, it's clearly the best day ever for Derek. Meanwhile love is in the air for young care worker Vicky... has she found the man of her dreams? Wednesday, 10pm, Channel 4. Guide
Series 3 of the Hollywood-based comedy starring Matt LeBlanc, Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan. We re-join the show as the ex-Friends star is fighting for custody of his children. You can read a new interview with the three main stars in our guide. Wednesday, 10pm, BBC Two. Guide
A one-off comedy drama as part of the Playhouse Presents season of pilots. The Cruise reunites Trollied stars Jane Horrocks and Jason Watkins. This time they're playing a couple who are preparing to go away on a holiday cruise. Thursday, 9pm, Sky Arts 1. Guide
Another appealing line-up for Graham Norton, who is probably still brushing Eurovision glitter from his jacket. This week on his chat show he'll be joined by Dawn French, who will be talking about her debut solo tour. She'll be joined on the sofa by Kirsten Dunst and Bear Grylls. Friday, 10:35pm, BBC One. Guide
Penelope Keith pays tribute to top comedy writer Bob Larbey, who died in March. We'll get to see some choice clips from some of his best-loved sitcoms. Following this 15 minute programme will be a repeat of the documentaries about Ever Decreasing Circles and The Good Life. Saturday, 8pm, BBC Two. Guide
