Introducing 'The Chaos'

The Chaos

Are we approaching a point where the internet is going to begin rivalling television as to where one goes to see new comedies? Quite possibly, as advertisers are now starting to provide funds to help create new shows.

Coming from the grimy venues of Camden Town is The Chaos, a sitcom featuring a fictitious band who are reportedly London's best prog-rock group.

Released solely online, this series has been created by mobile phone company GiffGaff, and it's actually a pretty decent offering.

Focussing around the fictional titular band, the sitcom sees the "punk-rock dubstep" four-piece find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation after Jonny Lucifer, the head of their record label, dies.

The show features a professional cast, including stand-up Jeff Leach as keyboardist Lenny, YouTube star Chris Kendall as front man Carl, comedian Thomas McGarva as Sean and Sammy T Dobson as drummer Sharona.

TV comedy fans will recognise Rufus Jones (Bob Servant Independent, Hunderby) as Jonny Lucifer, and Dan Skinner (The Ministry Of Curious Stuff, The Angelos Epithemiou Show) as the band's manager, Dougie.

Each of the five episodes is a snappy 4 to 5 minutes in length, which makes the series easily digestible entertainment. The humour's aimed at a fairly youthful audience and hopes to be as comical as it is up-to-date: indeed, Sharona is dubbed "the only member who doesn't need a YouTube tutorial to play her instrument".

So why not check out the first episode below? It really sets out what's in store for the rest of the series.

The following instalments are available to watch via the official website, www.thechaosband.com
