James Bond - Comedy Videos
With the new James Bond movie Skyfall out in cinemas and taking itself very seriously (lots of moody scowls and purposeful dialogue), we thought it a good time to dig out some 007 and general spy-related comedy video clips.
Bond is clearly a character ripe for parody, as these clips from the likes of Mitchell & Webb (pictured), Spitting Image, Eddie Izzard and Dead Ringers demonstrate. Enjoy!
Mitchell & Webb
A clip from That Mitchell & Webb Look. It's Casino Royale with a twist:
Dead Ringers
Skyfall is packed with product placement, but it isn't the first 007 movie to have less-that-subtle adverts in it, as this clip from impressions show Dead Ringers demonstrates:
Plus, there's more Dead Ringers 007 mickey taking this clip too
Mock The Week
The comedians on the topical panel show suggest some lines you're unlikely to hear in a James Bond movie...
Mitchell & Webb
Another clip from That Mitchell & Webb Look. This time the duo play a camp pair organising a dinner party - but they're not fans of inviting James Bond along.
Burnistoun
Recent sketch show Burnistoun imagines what it'd be like if James Bond met the locals in a typical Scottish pub:
Spitting Image
The classic puppet show delivered this 007 sketch in its Christmas special in 1989:
Burnistoun
Burnistoun again, as James Bond investigates a series of ingenious gadgets which will help him blend in to local Scotland:
QI
The brainy panel show discusses James Bond a couple of years back. It turns out the spy thinks homosexuals can't whistle:
Fry & Laurie
Stephen Fry appears in this clip too, alongside double-act partner Hugh Laurie. Not technically a 007 spoof, but we do enjoy their deliberately hammy Control and Tony espionage characters:
Alan Partridge
Alan Partridge is expecting Roger Moore, the third Bond film actor, to appear on his chat show Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge, but has to fill time when the star doesn't turn up...
Eddie Izzard
Eddie Izzard jokes about James Bond's gadgets:
Noise Next Door
The boys from improv group The Noise Next Door reveal some different ways that James Bond might kill himself in this quite recent video:
David Walliams
This isn't a comedy sketch, but here's David Walliams talking about why he's a James Bond fan:
Johnny English
And, to finish, it could be said Rowan Atkinson's spy character, Johnny English, is the polar opposite to James Bond - so let's take a look at him:
Hope that was fun!
