Writing before I could walk, I have been 'penning' various pieces for the last twenty years or more.
As as an incredibly versatile writer, I have written varying genres but my heart beats that little bit more when it comes to the delights of entertaining others with the comedy I love to develop.
Some years on, I am pleased to say that I have managed to get as far as completing several works, including my titles;
Dorothy Pickles, Meet the Wheelers, Small Money and Signing On.(Hmmm, I do feel like I should be standing somewhere on a stage saying all of this wearing a posh 'frock'); I digress.
Included within some of my most recent developments are some comedy book titles;
Dodging Dodgy Men being one of them. (The aformentioned does NOT mean I have ANYTHING against 'dodgy men' but is simply aimed at those who have erm, let's say, have their fair share of kissing frogs and toads by the pond of life).
Glad to have that cleared up!
Right; where was I? Okay, I was talking about my
portfolio of works to date; I am nearing the end of a book entitled Fizz, King of Pop! about a flea who goes to find fame and fortune, having had enough of life within the humans mattress in Springville Town.
Penned in true 'Bugs Life' style , it is a tale of a flea who aims for the top; walks proud; and a story that teaches each and every one of us, that if we believe enough, dreams really CAN come true; even for little guys!
Achievements to date,
Being the only teen to win an award from over a thousand others for her work, writing to me has always remained a way of illuminating a page with words; no matter what the subject matter. And the freedom of expression that writing brings remains my inspiration. (Goodness; that sounded very grown up!)
I have now created a children's book which has won acclaim for it's creative merit, received commendations by senior publishing executives and been asked to review it on national television.
As well as having developed several pilot sitcoms, I have produced more than one hundred articles within the area of business management, some of which are used regularly for their informative content.
In addition to the above, I am currently working as Operations Director for a
U.K charity which commands that I produce business reports regularly for senior managment members.
As something of a lateral thinker, I seek to explore and develop works in areas that not only audiences can relate to but those which take the people into
pages of life that reflect themselves as human beings. After all, mimicking human nature is one of the greatest forms of compliment and as people; we love to see that which we understand best; OURSELVES!
So where does that leave me? Still doing what I have always done best; Bringing smiles to the faces of a world who continue to delight in laughter even when
all else may not look so great at times. And for as long as they keep laughing, my pen will keep engaging them.....(Or actually, keyboard). Thank God for Bill G! Thats what I say!
