Book: Finding Your Comic Genius: An In-Depth Guide To The Art Of Stand-Up Comedy by Adam Bloom
It's worth adding that as well as being an essential guide for anyone who fancies being a stand-up (and for anyone who is starting out as a stand-up and also for quite a lot of established stand-ups) Bloom's book is funny too.

Claire Amber Young, Greenock Telegraph, 28th September 2023The tedious world of anti-woke comedy
From Jimmy Carr to Ricky Gervais, "edgy" comics are making jokes about 9/11 and Michael Jackson in an attempt to offend. But we've heard it all before.
Sarah Manavis, The New Statesman, 28th September 2023Rachel Fairburn: Showgirl review

Thomas Bartley, The Boar, 28th September 2023Russell Brand and the state of cancel culture
It is my hope that if Brand is found guilty of the accusations made against him, he faces the consequences of his actions in the public sphere, however I am not convinced this hope would materialise. With cancel culture becoming so casualised, and with the general public fast to forgive or forget, it is unlikely Brand will face the consequences of these actions whether the courts decide he should or not.

Guy Lambert, BBC, 28th September 2023Brassic review
Raucous Northern gem is the funniest show you're not watching.
Keith Watson, The Telegraph, 28th September 2023Doon Mackichan book review
Mackichan's book might have benefited from a stricter edit - there's some repetition - and I would have liked it to be a little more detailed but it's a real page-turner; raw, urgent and entertaining.
