Ultimately this mismatched bunch, acquainted only through an accident of their children's shared schooling, realise that they actually have a valuable friendship after all. What a nice surprise that a warming sentiment can push through all Motherland's delicious cynicism.

Mocking LadBaby following their triumph, The Kunts appeared to accuse the chart-topping duo of 'swindling' the public. They tweeted a mock up of a musical poster, with images of Mark and Roxanne eating sausage rolls, in reference to a previous tune. The Great Sausage Roll Swindle, they added to the image, which featured Ed Sheeran and £50 notes.

Brendan O'Carroll confirms new four-part Mrs Brown series

He told TV mag: "We were hoping to do a mini-series last year, just four episodes to celebrate 100 years of the BBC. But Covid got in the way. Not Covid itself, but as soon as the lockdowns were lifted, everybody was rushing for venues. The BBC were adamant that they wanted to get four episodes, so we thought: 'Let's book studios now for 2023 and we can do the four then.'"
