The creative forces behind Murder In Succesville and People Just Do Nothing combine for this excellent Channel 4 series.
Patrick Cremona, Radio Times, 1st February 2022Comedy nights to be held at Newcastle Cathedral
The Cathedral of Comedy shows, beginning on May 21, will see the atmospheric cathedral nave transformed by night as audiences mill around enjoying food from a mix of local vendors as well as drinks from a fully-stocked bar during their evening of entertainment. Their debut comedy night will be headlined by Irish comedian, writer, musician and actor David O'Doherty and will also feature North East comedians, including The Stand regulars Matt Reed, Kelly Edgar and Anth Young with more to come, adds David.
Barbara Hodgson, Newcastle Chronicle, 1st February 2022TV review: Toast Of Tinseltown, Episode 5, Death Valley, BBC Two
There aren't that many TV comedies that I make a point of watching old school when they go out but Toast Of Tinseltown is one of them. And that's despite the fact that I've already binged on it on iPlayer.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 1st February 2022TV review: Lazy Susan, BBC Three
There are no complaints from this viewer. Well, only one - at 15 minutes this is way too short.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 1st February 2022The Play What I Wrote - The Lowry, Salford review
Perhaps the most beautiful thing about this production is – you don't have to be a Morecambe and Wise fan to be in on the jokes and references.
James Mac, The Reviews Hub, 1st February 2022The Play What I Wrote review
This is a great fun night out with lots of laughs for all the family that gives audiences a bit more than a 'tribute' or impressions show while still bringing the essence of the greatness of Eric and Ernie. But after this discussion of keeping double acts together, I'd love to see a reunion of writers Sean Foley and Hamish McColl - perhaps trapped in a bathroom for 26 years?
David Chadderton, British Theatre Guide, 1st February 2022Lazy Susan review
Celeste Dring and Freya Parker are phenomenal in their ability to create believable comedy characters, rich in subtle detail and traits.

Footage of culture secretary Nadine Dorries struggling to defend Boris Johnson in an interview has gone viral, with many comparing the clip to a Catherine Tate comedy sketch. Many have compared Dorries' mannerisms in the interview to those of Tate's comedy character Lauren, a school girl whose catchphrase is "Am I bovvered?"

Chortle, 1st February 2022Review: The Play What I Wrote - a stupidly funny tribute
It's not exactly a Morecambe and Wise impersonation act, but it's certainly set within that world of comedy and they play homage to a lot of sketches and mannerisms you'll know and love if you're a fan. You're in for an enhanced experience if you already know the duo.
Gina, Culturebean, 1st February 2022Spike review
Fast-paced portrait of Spike Milligan hurls us between the comic's anarchic Goon Show sketches, cartoonish clashes with the BBC and the trauma of war.
Brian Logan, The Guardian, 1st February 2022Spike, review
Ian Hislop and Nick Newman's show about Spike Milligan, at the Watermill, should delight his many fans but may not recruit new ones
Tristram Fane Saunders, The Telegraph, 1st February 2022Spike review
Ian Hislop and Nick Newman capture Milligan's genius.

Wryly funny Ben Whishaw captivates in unflinching and exhausting snapshot of doctor's life.
