Vic & Bob were threatened at gunpoint in US trip

The pair hired motorcycles in 1992 in the hope of driving from the west coast to the east coast of the US but turned back early on in their journey due to heavy rain. However, before that they took a wrong turn and ended up in the city of Compton, south of downtown Los Angeles. Speaking on his new podcast with Jools Holland, Reeves recalled how they had stopped at a red light before being threatened by another driver.

Have I Got News For You. Ian Hislop

Review: Contemplating Comedy by Jonathan Levitt

I'm not sure what's the worst aspect of Contemplating Comedy: the fact that author Jonathan Levitt has simply lifted hundreds of jokes written by other people - or the ill-considered drivel he's surrounded them with to justify that theft as some sort of insight.

Detectorists: a bonafide heartwarming joy

Each short episode of this charming series about a bumbling small-town metal-detecting club is a perfectly calibrated good mood.

Back knows the provincial pub is Britain in microcosm

This comedy series starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb also has deep feeling for its boozer's denizens.

Why Year Of The Rabbit deserves another season

Cut loose after just one series, the bonkers Channel 4 sitcom remains an overlooked gem.
