Monty Python interview: 'We were censored by the BBC'

In the third series, though, Palin says, the BBC started making some "fairly ridiculous censorship decisions". A battle over one particular sketch saw all six Pythons in a heated argument with the head of comedy. "We fought them for the right to say 'masturbation'," he says.

Comedy goes multi-lingual

Following the success of its inaugural outing at the Comedy Cafe last month the International Comedy Club reprised the francophone stand up night on Tuesday mixing French comedians with English guest comedians Nick Doody and Comedy Store Player Richard Vranch, both of whom performed five minute sets in French.

Lots of comedians seem to be getting tied up at the moment and I don't mean in a Fifty Shades of Grey way. John Bishop wears a tie. Jack Whitehall wears a tie.
