New BBC One series for Kevin Bridges
Kevin Bridges, the 24-year old Scottish comic, will host his own BBC One factual comedy series, it has been announced.
Speaking at the Edinburgh International TV Festival, BBC One controller Danny Cohen announced that Bridges will host What's The Story? (working title), a series looking at the truth behind his material.
Produced by the Scottish division of production company Open Mike, the show aims to get at the reality of Kevin's life, his upbringing in Clydebank, his family, friends, and the world as he sees it.
Kevin said: "I'm delighted at the news that someone at the BBC has deemed me worthy enough to be let loose with a camera crew in an attempt to make something funny. I'm excited at being given this opportunity and to be able to produce the show from Scotland is an added bonus. It'll be great to see something on national TV made from Scotland that doesn't have an appeal for witnesses before the closing credits."
