ITV2 orders The Almost Impossible Game Show 2
- ITV2 orders 6 more episodes of The Almost Impossible Game Show 2
- The Rubberbandits will provide the commentary again
- Series 2 has already been filmed and will be on ITV2 in January 2016
ITV2 has ordered another series of The Almost Impossible Game Show.
As the programme's title suggests, the format sees contestants take on challenges that they're unlikely to be able to complete. The makers label it as "the ridiculously silly game show that's so hard to beat, contestants are given 50 lives... and they probably STILL won't win!"
Six more episodes have now been filmed, to be broadcast on ITV2 next year.
Comedy duo The Rubberbandits has been signed up to provide the show's anarchic commentary again and give "their own bizarre, twisted take on the action as the contestants make their way through the show."
The Rubberbandits say: "The Almost Impossible Game Show is a probing exegesis of the human condition, which challenges traditional boundaries of societal interaction via the combined mediums of lycra and falling downing. We have no doubt that it will be shortlisted for a Turner Prize, as a BAFTA is not an appropriate mantle of endowment for this work of vital art."
Talking more about the new series, the producers say "a fresh batch of brave contestants will be pitting themselves against The Almost Impossible Game Show's incredibly simple yet hilariously difficult games. 50 contestants took on the challenge in Series 1 with just three succeeding. Will this new bunch of heroes fare any better?
"Each episode sees ten contestants take on highly sophisticated challenges including the all new 'Candle Scream' in which they must put out a candle by yelling at it.
Other featured games across the series include; 'Tiny Bike' which involves riding a miniature bike at speed along a very narrow beam, 'Groin Croissant' where contestants must shake plastic croissants off a Velcro bodysuit and 'Enter Trouser' - 25 seconds to attempt to put on a pair of trousers whilst sprinting on a treadmill.
"These dastardly physical challenges are so swear-bleepingly, bum-bruisingly, face-slappingly tricky that contestants are given 50 attempts to complete just 5 of them. If they fail a game, they've got to do it again... and again... and again...
"But if they succeed at this Almost Impossible task and beat the show they'll return home covered in glory! And mud."
Series 2 of The Almost Impossible Game Show will launch on ITV2 in January 2016.
