BBC announces 9 Comedy Feeds 2014 pilots
The BBC has revealed details of the nine shows which will make up its 2014 Comedy Feeds pilot strand.
The sitcoms and sketch shows will be available to view on iPlayer from next month, before being broadcast on BBC Three later in the year.
This is the biggest batch yet of Comedy Feed pilots. The scheme has now been running for three years, and has so far generated the series People Just Do Nothing, Nick Helm's Heavy Entertainment and Impractical Jokers.
Speaking about the Comedy Feeds, BBC Comedy's Shane Allen says: "This exciting range of shows and new talents cement BBC Three's place as the key place for emerging comedy talent on and off screen. With so many spin-off series springing from these, the Comedy Feeds show serious commitment to finding the next best writers, directors and faces of British comedy."
BBC iPlayer's Victoria Jaye adds: "Comedy Feeds are a great example of BBC iPlayer's unique role in growing the hits of tomorrow. The platform enables us to showcase the most exciting work from the very best new British talent across over 1,200 devices and four screens, and make that content shareable and discoverable in a myriad of new ways. The genre of comedy hugely benefits from this sort of approach to development."
