Sadie Potter has been married for 23 years and she's grown tired of cooking, cleaning and sleeping in an elastic bandage. She's frustrated with the grey and hostile world and is bored with her life.

Her husband, Norman, doesn't listen to her complaints as he's heard it all before; and, besides, he is too busy watching TV. When he drags himself away from the screen he is just as frustrated - but with rising prices, bureaucracy and rudeness!

The couple have reached middle-age and seem to have seen their dreams slowly disappear...
