Next Of Kin

Does anyone remember the sitcom Next Of Kin which ran from 1995 - 1997? It starred Penelope Keith as Maggie Prentice and both her and her husband raised their grandchildren after their parents died. Is it on DVD?

Don't know it myself, and no, it's not on DVD.

Lol, yes I remember this. I like Penelope Keith and it was pretty good.

Yep. It was dreadful. The kids were irritating and she played the role she always plays.

Yea I remember this sitcom and I thought it was pretty good.

It had William Gaunt of No Place Like Home fame playing the husband.

Not particulary funny and very twee and middle-class.

It had the theme tune..."tea for two and two for tea"

God, yeah that's it.

I'd totally forgotten about that programme.

It was rubbish.

Totally forgot I'd posted this. lols

It was not rubbish lmao, well each to their own I suppose. .

It's out on DVD in Australia, though at the minute only series 1.

As for the theme tune it was

"Tea for two and two for tea
Me for you and you for me
Cant you see how happy we would be?"

"You could raise a family
A boy like us
A girl like me"

"Can't you see how happy we could be"

The could and would might be other way around.

The opening credits are on YouTube somewhere.

Lucky YouTube. :|

With what?

I've found the DVD of series 1 in region 4 and somebody told me that it would be playable over here? is that right?

If you have a multi-region DVD player, then you shouldn't have any problems playing it.

I remember watching this show about a year ago on BBC Prime and I loved it. Let's hope a R2 DVD will be available in the near future. :)

By the way, hello! I'm new to the forums. Wave

I bought Series 1 from Australia.

Any hopes that it will come out over here? It has the 2Entertain name on it so I was hoping it might get a UK release.

I want them to release Series 2 & 3 in Oz now through ABC. Though a UK box set would be nice.
